Nystatin Holsten soft paste

Nystatin Holsten Softpaste is a healing paste with the active ingredients nystatin and zinc oxide.It is used to treat fungal skin diseases that respond to nystatin.These include, but are not limited to, diaper rash and fungal infections in body folds such as the between finger and toe areas, the groin, the perineal region and below the breasts.

Areas of application

The paste is used for various fungal infections, which are often accompanied by inflammation.These include fungal infections of the skin and mucous membranes, fungal infections in folds of the body such as under the breasts, on the buttocks or between the thighs, fungal infections between the toes or fingers, soreness caused by mechanical stimuli such as friction, and inflammation in the genital and anal areas, including diaper rash.

Application and dosage

Nystatin Holsten Softpaste should always be used according to the instructions in the package leaflet.Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, it is recommended to apply the paste to the affected skin areas 3-4 times a day.The duration of treatment is usually 2-4 weeks, but can be extended if necessary.It is important to continue treatment for a few days after healing.

Composition

The active ingredients in Nystatin Holsten Softpaste are nystatin (100,000 IU per 1 gram of paste) and zinc oxide (200 mg per 1 gram of paste).The other ingredients include thick paraffin, polyethylene and an odorant.

Mode of action

Nystatin damages the cell membrane of fungi, thereby inhibiting or killing their growth.Zinc oxide acts against pathogens and inflammation, promotes wound healing and binds moisture to the skin, which prevents pathogens from penetrating.

Contraindications

Nystatin Holsten Softpaste should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist for individual recommendations.

Possible side effects include skin hypersensitivity reactions such as rash and itching.If you notice any discomfort or changes during treatment, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 25°C.The tube should be kept tightly closed.After opening, the paste has a shelf life of 3 months.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated on the outer carton and tube.
