Instructions for use for Magnesiocard i.v.

Magnesiocard i.v.is an injection solution that contains the active ingredient magnesium aspartate hydrochloride 3 H2O.This preparation is used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency, especially if this leads to neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps and oral treatment is not possible.No prescription is required for this product.

Important information before use

Magnesiocard i.v.must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or other ingredients, certain cardiac arrhythmias, severe kidney dysfunction, lack of urine excretion, dehydration, myasthenia gravis or a tendency to certain kidney stones.If renal function is impaired, careful dosing is necessary and blood magnesium levels should be monitored.The injection must be given slowly and the patient should rest for some time afterwards.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking, as interactions are possible.Magnesiocard i.v.can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.No special precautions are required when driving or operating machines.

Application of Magnesiocard i.v.

The dosage depends on the degree of magnesium deficiency.For chronic deficiency, four weeks of treatment is recommended, with one ampoule slowly injected intravenously every one to two days.The ampoules are handled by breaking the ampoule skewer downwards.In the event of an overdose, a calcium injection may be necessary.

Possible side effects

Side effects are rare and may include bradycardia, conduction abnormalities, vasodilation, warmth, flushing, nausea, vomiting, headache, tingling, sweating, dizziness, dry mouth, agitation, agitation and tremor.Adverse effects can be resolved by reducing the dose or discontinuing treatment.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and protected from light.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
