Directions for use of the article SERASEPT 1: - SERASEPT 1 and SERASEPT 2 are antiseptic solutions with the active substance polihexanide. - They are used for adjuvant antiseptic treatment of wounds, e.g. after surgical debridement. - The application is in the form of compresses soaked with SERASEPT , which are applied directly to the wound surface. - SERASEPT 2 (0.04% polihexanide) is used on soiled and ulcerated wounds, while SERASEPT 1 (0.02% polihexanide) is used for repeated application to wounds. - The dosage and duration of application are determined by the physician. - SERASEPT 1 and SERASEPT 2 must not be used in the area of cartilage and joints, intraperitoneally and in case of hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients. - Use should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation unless there is a compelling indication. - There are no known interactions with other medicinal products. - Side effects may occur, such as hypersensitivity reactions and systemic anaphylactic reactions.
