Epi-Pevaryl® P.v.1% solution - your helper against skin fungus

Epi-Pevaryl P.v.1% solution is a proven and reliable remedy for the treatment of fungal diseases of the skin and scalp, especially pityriasis versicolor.This skin disease is caused by the yeast Pityrosporum orbiculare or ovale.The product is available over the counter and is suitable for the entire family, including infants, toddlers and adults.

The active ingredient econazole effectively fights the fungal infection and relieves symptoms such as itching, flaking and redness.The solution is available in convenient sachets and is applied after showering to the affected skin areas, including the scalp, between the toes and the rest of the body.The duration of treatment is usually three days, but can be extended up to six days if symptoms persist.

The solution contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 100 mg econazole, isopropyl alcohol, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-(2-lauramidoethyl)aminoacetic acid, sodium salt, PEG-150 distearate, polysorbate 20, sorbitan laurate, trideceth-3 sulfate, sodium salt, purified water and 1 mg benzyl alcohol.

Area of application

Epi-Pevaryl P.v.1% solution is used for the external treatment of fungal diseases of the skin and scalp.It is particularly effective for pityriasis versicolor, a skin disease caused by the yeast Pityrosporum orbiculare or ovale.

Dosage

First shower your hair and your entire body.Then apply the solution to the damp scalp, the still damp, affected parts of the body and the rest of the body.Don't forget the armpits, skin folds and spaces between the toes.If possible, have a second person treat your back.

Use a third of the contents of the bag for the scalp, affected parts of the body and the rest of the body.Carry out the treatment at bedtime for three consecutive evenings.The contents of an entire bag are intended for one application.

The signs of bran fungus usually go away during the 3 day treatment period.In stubborn cases, treatment should last 6 days.If you have previously had bran fungus or large areas of skin are affected, a treatment period of 6 days is also recommended.

If necessary, you should have your doctor check for live fungi after 14 days.If live fungi are still detectable, you must repeat the treatment.To avoid relapses, follow-up treatment after 1 and 3 months is advisable if there is a risk of a new infection or in areas with increased occurrence of this fungal disease.

Intake

Massage the solution in for at least 3 - 5 minutes.The foam is not rinsed off, but is allowed to dry and leave on overnight.The solution can be rinsed off the next morning.After using the solution, you should wash your hands thoroughly (exception: treatment of hands).

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to econazole nitrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Patient information

The preparation is intended for external use only and must not be taken.The solution must not get into the eyes.If the solution gets into your eyes, rinse them with plenty of water.If eye problems persist, see your doctor.

If you have signs of a hypersensitivity reaction such as redness, itching, skin irritation or blistering, even on untreated areas of the body, you must not use the medicine again.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding you may only use this medicine after consulting your doctor.

If your doctor assesses the benefit-risk ratio positively, do not use the product on the breast area while breastfeeding.This will avoid direct contact of the infant with the solution.

Notes

Care must be taken to ensure that no solution comes into contact with the eyes.Make sure that the treatment is long enough and that you take appropriate hygienic measures such as regular linen changes.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
