Nizoral® 2% cream - fungicidal drug with a broad spectrum of action
Fungal skin diseases, also known as dermatomycoses, can be very unpleasant and persistent.Without effective treatment, they can spread further.A proven active ingredient for treating such fungal diseases is ketoconazole, which is contained in the Nizoral® 2% cream in a concentration of 2.
Nizoral® 2% cream is an antifungal medicine intended for external use in fungal skin infections.It is used for infections caused by dermatophytes, microsporia or yeast fungi.Typical areas of application are fungal lichen on the feet, arms, in the groin or beard region as well as thrush mycoses.In most cases, using the cream relieves the symptoms after a few days.
Area of application
Nizoral® 2% cream is intended for use in adults.It is used for fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes, microsporia or yeast fungi.The cream can be used for fungal lichen, skin fungus caused by microsporia and infections caused by yeast fungi (thrush mycoses).
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The Nizoral® 2% cream contains the active ingredient ketoconazole.The following excipients are also included: stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, purified water, disodium sulfite, isopropyl myristate, propylene glycol, polysorbate 60, polysorbate 80 and sorbitan stearate.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to ketoconazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Dosage
Nizoral® 2% cream is intended for use in adults.Unless otherwise prescribed, the cream should be applied to the affected skin and the surrounding skin area (approx. 1 - 2 cm) 1 to 2 times a day and massaged in with your finger until the cream is absorbed.Treatment should be continued for at least a few days after the symptoms disappear to avoid recurrence.
Intake
Massage the cream with your finger until it is absorbed.
Patient information
The medicine must not get into the eye.If you are also using topical medicines containing cortisone, you should consult your doctor or pharmacy.Follow the treatment regimen: Use the cortisone-containing medicine in the morning and the Nizoral® 2% cream in the evening for one week.Then apply the cortisone-containing medicine every 2 to 3 days in the morning and the Nizoral® 2% cream every evening for one to two more weeks.Then stop using the cortisone-containing medicine and, if necessary, only use Nizoral® 2% cream.
No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no known risks associated with using the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should still only use the product after consulting a doctor.Please do not use the medicine on the breast area while breastfeeding to avoid direct contact with the baby.
Notes
Nizoral® 2% cream is intended for use in adults and contains the active ingredient ketoconazole.It is used for fungal infections of the skin (dermatomycoses) such as fungal lichen (e.g. athlete's foot, lower leg fungus) and skin fungus caused by microsporia as well as infections caused by yeast fungi (thrush mycoses).No prescription is required for this product.
Contains stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol and propylene glycol.Do not bring into eyes.
Other
The general hygiene measures to avoid infections must be observed.In order to avoid an immediate recurrence of the symptoms after discontinuing long-term local cortisone treatment, it is recommended not to stop the local cortisone treatment immediately, but to initially continue the local cortisone treatment in the morning and apply the ketoconazole cream in the evening.Cortisone treatment should be stopped slowly over a period of 2-3 weeks.
