Terbinafine hydrochloride AL 10 mg/g cream

This cream is used for the external treatment of fungal or yeast infections of the skin, with athlete's foot being one of the most common applications.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The cream contains 10 mg of terbinafine hydrochloride per gram as the active ingredient.The following excipients are also included: 8.89 mg terbinafine, cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, cetyl stearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water and 10 mg benzyl alcohol.

Area of application

The cream is used to treat various fungal and yeast infections of the skin.These include athlete's foot, ringworm, skin fungus, bran ringworm and yeast diseases.These infections can manifest as itching, redness and skin changes.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Hypersensitivity can manifest itself as red spots, swelling of the skin and itching.

Dosage

Always use the cream exactly as described or as directed by your doctor.If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Adults and young people over 12 years:

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis interdigitalis): once daily for 1 week.

Athlete's foot on the sole of the foot (tinea pedis plantaris): twice a day for 2 weeks.

Ringworm (tinea corporis, tinea cruris): once daily for 1 week.

Skin fungus (cutaneous candidiasis): 1-2 times daily for 1 to 2 weeks.

Bran ringworm (Pityriasis versicolor): 1 to 2 times daily for 2 weeks.

Yeast diseases (skin candidiasis) can occur in older or overweight patients, especially in skin folds with a moist environment or in patients with other diseases such as diabetes.Treatment should be continued for the recommended duration, even if symptoms subside after a few days.Symptom relief usually occurs after just a few days, but may recur if the cream is not used regularly or if treatment is stopped prematurely.

With this cream your skin condition should improve within a few days.However, it can take up to four weeks for the damaged skin to heal completely after the disease has subsided.The cream will continue to work even after you have finished the treatment, so your skin should continue to improve.

Elderly: There is no evidence that older patients require different dosages or experience different side effects than younger patients.

Children: Because there is limited experience with the use of the cream in children under 12 years of age, the use of this medicine is not recommended in this age group.

Intake

It is important that you use the product correctly.Follow the instructions exactly.If you suffer from a fungal nail infection, you should consult your doctor.This cream is not suitable for this type of infection.

For use on the skin:

Before use, you should clean the affected skin and your hands thoroughly and dry them well.Put a small amount of cream on your finger and close the tube again.Apply the cream in a thin layer to the affected skin area and the surrounding skin areas and rub in lightly.After touching the infected area of skin, wash your hands to prevent the infection from spreading.

If you are treating fungal infections in skin folds on the body, you can cover these skin areas with a strip of gauze, especially overnight.To do this, use a new, clean strip of gauze each time.Consult your doctor before using the cream on large areas of skin.

Supporting the treatment:

To support treatment, maintain good hygiene by regularly cleaning the affected area of skin.Dry yourself carefully without rubbing by gently dabbing the area.Try not to scratch despite itching, as this can cause further skin damage and delay the healing process or spread the infection.

Regularly change towels, clothing and stockings that come into contact with the affected area of skin and wash them at at least 60°C.If this is not possible, you should at least use a hygienic cleaner. Prefer natural materials, such as cotton.This way you can prevent transmission to other parts of the body and people.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.The cream is only to be used externally and must not be used or taken in the mouth.If application to the face is necessary, be sure to avoid contact with the eyes.This can cause irritation.If the cream accidentally gets into your eyes, wipe them off and rinse your eyes carefully under running water.See a doctor if symptoms persist.

Infants and young children should not come into contact with the treated skin areas, including the breasts.Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.

The use of the cream is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.Children's experiences are limited.

Pregnancy
