Terbinafine hydrochloride AL 10 mg/g cream

This medicine contains the active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride and is used to treat fungal skin infections.It is effective against various yeasts and skin fungi, with athlete's foot being one of the most common applications.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient terbinafine hydrochloride is contained in a concentration of 10 mg per gram of cream.In addition, the cream contains the following excipients: cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water and benzyl alcohol.

Areas of application

The cream is used to treat fungal skin infections.These include athlete's foot, ringworm, skin fungi such as cutaneous candidiasis and bran ringworm.Athlete's foot manifests itself through itching, redness, flaking and an unpleasant odor.Lichen appears as itchy, red, and scaly circular patches.Skin fungi like Candida cause itching, redness, and flaking, especially in warm and moist areas of the body.Bran ringworm occurs mainly on the shoulders, upper body and upper arms and appears as slightly itchy and scaly patches.

Dosage

The cream should be used once daily for one to two weeks, depending on the type of fungal infection.For athlete's foot and ringworm, the usual treatment period is one week.For skin fungi such as Candida, treatment can take one to two weeks.Bran ringworm is treated once or twice daily for two weeks.It is important not to stop treatment prematurely to avoid a recurrence of symptoms.

Application

The cream is intended exclusively for external use.Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area of skin and its surroundings and rub in lightly.Sterile gauze can be used to cover skin folds.Wash your hands after use if they have not been treated.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients.Signs of hypersensitivity may include red spots, swelling of the skin, or itching.

Patient information

Avoid contact of the cream with the eyes as this may cause irritation.Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if this happens accidentally.Use in children under 12 years is not recommended as there is limited experience in this age group.Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

Before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding as terbinafine passes into breast milk and children should not come into contact with treated skin.
