ICHTHOLAN® 20% Ointment

The black pulling ointment ICHTHOLAN® 20% contains the active ingredient ammonium bituminosulfonate (ICHTHYOL®).Studies and research show that the active ingredient fights bacteria, inhibits inflammation and reduces painful symptoms.The ointment loosens the skin barrier and promotes the drainage of pus.It penetrates deep into the skin and quickly draws inflammation and pus to the surface.

Areas of application

ICHTHOLAN® 20% Ointment is used for the following complaints:

• Nail bed inflammation

• Razor bumps

• Inflammation caused by splinters and thorns

• Inflammation of sweat glands

Application

ICHTHOLAN® 20% is applied thickly to the affected area and covered with an all-round plaster or bandage.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and ingredients

The active ingredient of the ointment is ammonium bituminosulfonate.The ointment also contains wool wax and butylhydroxytoluene.

Available potencies

ICHTHOLAN® is available in three different potencies: 10%, 20% and 50%.The 10% ointment has been specially developed for the treatment of sensitive skin areas, such as the intimate area or face.The highly concentrated 50% ointment is used when pus has accumulated deep in the skin, such as boils and abscesses.Basically, as much active ingredient as necessary but as little as possible should be used.
