Active ingredient Nystatin - effective against yeast fungi on the skin

The active ingredient nystatin is used to treat skin infections caused by yeast fungi.Nystatin changes the cell membranes of these fungi in such a way that the permeability of the membrane is increased and cell components can escape.This leads to the death of the fungi.It is also positive that the development of resistance has not yet been observed.

Fungal yeast infections can occur in various parts of the body.These include hands and feet, especially between the fingers and toes and the palms of the hands, fingernails and toenails, especially on the nail wall, body wrinkles due to obesity, but also under the breasts, mucous membranes, such as in the genital and anal areas, and diaper rash.

Lederlind® healing paste is used to treat skin infections caused by proven nystatin-sensitive yeast fungi (Candida albicans, Torulopsis glabrata, etc.).These include diaper rash, soreness under the breast, in the groin and anus, inflammation of the nail edges and fungal infections between the fingers and toes.

Lederlind® healing paste can be applied several times a day.The duration of treatment is usually up to 6 days.After the symptoms have subsided, Lederlind® healing paste should be used for another 8 to 10 days to prevent the skin infection from flaring up again.

Lederlind® healing paste is well tolerated and is therefore often used in infant care.

No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Lederlind healing paste is used to treat skin infections that have been caused by proven nystatin-sensitive yeast fungi (Candida albicans, Torulopsis glabrata, etc.), such as diaper rash, soreness under the breast, in the groin and anal area, inflammation of the nail edges and fungal infections between the fingers and toes.

100000 IE Nystatin, 22.73 mg Nystatin, glycerol monostearate, isopropyl palmitate, paraffin, thin liquid, polyethylene glycol (5000) stearyl ether, silicon dioxide, highly disperse, titanium dioxide, petroleum jelly, white.

Contraindications

Lederlind Heilpaste must not be used if you are hypersensitive to nystatin or any of the other ingredients of Lederlind Heilpaste.When treating with Lederlind healing paste in the genital or anal area, the safety of condoms may be impaired.

Dosage

Always use the product exactly according to the instructions in this leaflet.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the preparation is applied to the affected skin areas 2 to 3 times a day, for infants after every diaper change up to a maximum of 5 times a day.

The preparation should be applied for about 6 days until the disease subsides.Continuing treatment for another 8 to 10 days is recommended to ensure treatment success.

Symptoms of poisoning due to overdose have not yet been reported and are not to be expected due to the limited local use.

Do not use a double dose if you forget the previous dose.

Patient information

When treating the genital or anal area, the excipients can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus an impairment of the safety of condoms when latex condoms are used at the same time.

No special precautions are required.

Pregnancy

There are no data for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.

Other

If healing is not successful, inform your doctor.Remove all fungal lesions on the skin and mucous membranes to avoid relapses caused by untreated fungal lesions.

Application

The recommended dose is: Lederlind® healing paste is applied to the affected skin areas 2 to 3 times a day.For infants, apply to the affected skin areas after each diaper change up to a maximum of 5 times a day.

Lederlind® healing paste should be applied for about 6 days until the disease subsides. Continuing treatment for another 8 - 10 days is recommended to ensure treatment success.

Notes

Lederlind® healing paste must not be used if you are allergic to nystatin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

When using latex condoms, it should be noted that due to the additives white petroleum jelly and low-viscosity paraffin, simultaneous use of Lederlind® healing paste in the genital and anal area can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of condoms.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
