Glycilax® with the active ingredient glycerol is a mild preparation for laxatives in cases of constipation and painful defecation.It works by softening the intestinal contents and increasing the lubricity of the stool, thereby stimulating bowel movements and making emptying easier.Due to its gentle action, Glycilax® is also suitable for infants and children.It is available in different dosage forms for children and adults.

The ingredients of Glycilax® for adults include 1 g of glycerol 85% per suppository.It also contains the excipients cetomacrogol 1000, hard fat, light, basic magnesium carbonate and bleached wax.

Area of application

Glycilax® for adults is used for constipation and painful defecation.It can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.It is also suitable for hemorrhoidal problems, anal fissures and inflammation in the anus area.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if there is an intestinal obstruction or if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

The suppositories should be kept cool or held briefly under cold water in the foil before use.Adults can insert 1-2 suppositories (corresponding to 1-2 g glycerol 85%) if necessary.If blockages are stubborn, another suppository can be inserted.If constipation is persistent or long-lasting, a doctor should be consulted to discuss further treatment.

Glycilax® for adults is used rectally.Adults insert 1-2 suppositories into the anus if necessary.If blockages are stubborn, another suppository can be inserted.The suppositories should be kept cool or held briefly under cold water in the foil before use.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in the case of unclear abdominal pain, for example if appendicitis is suspected.In such cases, a doctor should be consulted.If used at the same time as condoms, the tear resistance may be reduced and the safety of condoms may be impaired.

Constipation can be caused by poor diet or lifestyle habits, such as too little exercise, lack of fluid intake, or a diet low in fiber.Drug treatment should only be carried out if dietary measures or lifestyle changes have not brought sufficient success.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

There are no known reports of adverse effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding in humans.
