Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) is an antiseptic for wound disinfection and supportive wound treatment. It effectively protects against infections of acute and chronic wounds as well as burn wounds on the skin and mucous membrane. Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) is also suitable for treating skin and mucous membrane surfaces before diagnostic and surgical procedures. The application of the alcohol-free solution is generally painless and therefore also ideally suited for babies and premature babies. Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) is colourless. Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) has a broad spectrum of action. The onset of action is fast and long-lasting. The antiseptic ingredient octenidine interacts with structures in the shell of the microorganisms and causes lasting damage. Phenoxyethanol additionally complements the bactericidal properties of octenidine. This reliably eliminates bacteria, fungi and certain viruses on the skin and mucous membranes. 100 g Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) contain octenidine hydrochloride 0.1 g and phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.) 2.0 g as active ingredients. The solution also contains other ingredients such as (3-coconut fatty acid amidopropyl) dimethylazaniumyl acetate, sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and purified water. This product should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. The use of the solution as an irrigation in the abdominal cavity, the urinary bladder and on the eardrum is also contraindicated. Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) is applied to the area to be disinfected. Make sure that it is completely and evenly covered and let it work for at least one minute. Do not rinse with water! The drug is intended for superficial application and must not be introduced into the depth of the tissue by means of a syringe. The area to be treated should be thoroughly rubbed with drug-soaked swabs. For superficial wounds, the solution may be sprayed directly on. For treatment in the mouth and throat, the solution can be used as a mouth rinse. Please observe further instructions in the package leaflet! Do not swallow the medicine in large quantities or allow it to enter the bloodstream. To prevent possible tissue damage, the preparation must not be introduced or injected into the tissue under pressure. In general, a doctor should be consulted in case of deep injuries. Octenisept solution (pack size: 500 ml) is currently not classified as dangerous for pregnant women. There is insufficient data available on the use of the product during breastfeeding. However, the components octenidine dihydrochloride and phenoxyethanol are only absorbed in small amounts and are not likely to pass into breast milk.
