Miconazol acis® zinc paste
Miconazol acis® zinc paste is a medicine for the external treatment of fungal diseases of the skin, especially for the treatment of severe forms of diaper rash caused by yeast fungi (Candida spp.).It can be used on infants, children and adults.The product is available without a prescription.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredients in Miconazol acis® zinc paste are miconazole nitrate and zinc oxide.One gram of the paste contains 20 milligrams of miconazole nitrate and 200 milligrams of zinc oxide.The paste also contains the following ingredients: white petroleum jelly, macrogol stearate 40, thick paraffin, propylene glycol, glycerol 85%, glycerol monostearate 40 - 55% and all-rac-α-tocopherol.
Area of application
Miconazol acis® zinc paste is used to treat diaper rash and diaper candidiasis.These diseases can be caused by friction, waterlogging and the colonization of germs via urine or stool.The paste has a fungistatic and fungicidal effect against various pathogens of skin mycoses and is well tolerated.Zinc oxide helps absorb moisture.
Application and dosage
The paste is applied to the entire affected area with every diaper change and after every bath.Before use, the skin should be cleansed with lukewarm water and dried carefully.The paste is applied carefully with your fingertips without massaging it.It is important to use non-occlusive diapers and change diapers frequently.Infected skin should not be cleaned with scented soaps, shampoos, or lotions.
Contraindications
Miconazol acis® zinc paste should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.This is especially true for allergies to miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide, or related antifungal medications.
Patient information
The preparation is intended for external use only and must not be taken.Contact with eyes should be avoided.In the event of hypersensitivity reactions or irritation, treatment should be discontinued.If you are taking oral anticoagulants such as warfarin, stop using miconazole immediately and seek the advice of your doctor or pharmacist if you experience unexpected bleeding or bruising.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Miconazole applied to the skin is absorbed into the body to a very small extent.There are no data available as to whether the active ingredient is excreted in breast milk.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should only use the product after consulting a doctor.
Notes
Contains propylene glycol.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
