Canifug solution 1% is a solution with the active ingredient clotrimazole for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin. It is effective against various types of fungi, including yeasts, filamentous fungi and moulds. The solution can be used to treat fungal infections of the feet, skin, skin folds, nails and pityriasis versicolor (a type of skin spot). The solution should be sprayed thinly onto the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day and rubbed in lightly. The duration of application is usually at least 4 weeks. Side effects may include skin irritation such as redness, burning or stinging. Use should be avoided in case of hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or other ingredients of the solution. During pregnancy and lactation, the solution should not be used in the breast area. No special precautions are necessary to impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. The solution should be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date.
