Bifon® Gel - for weeping skin and athlete's foot infections

Bifon® Gel with the active ingredient bifonazole is an effective solution for skin and athlete's foot infections.The active ingredient bifonazole is particularly effective against various types of fungi, including dermatophytes, yeasts and molds.The gel adheres well, even to damp skin, does not dry out and is not greasy.It is ideal for the treatment of weeping skin and athlete's foot and can be used specifically on small areas of skin.

Areas of application

Bifon® Gel is used for various fungal skin diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur or Corynebacterium minutissimum.These include mycoses of the skin and skin folds, mycoses between fingers and toes, bran mycoses, superficial yeast infections of the skin and dwarf lichen.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Bifon® Gel is bifonazole.1 g gel contains 10 mg bifonazole.The other ingredients are benzyl alcohol, alpha-(hexadecyl, octadecyl)-omega-hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)-30, macrogol-7-glycerol cocoate, isopropyl isostearate, lactic acid, ethanol 96% and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage and application

Bifon® Gel is applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.A small amount of gel (approx. 1 cm strand length) is enough for an area about the size of your palm.Before each use, the affected skin areas should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially hard-to-reach areas such as between the toes.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the product.If you have had a history of hypersensitivity to other antifungal medicines, you should use the medicine with caution.Avoid getting the gel in your eyes.If symptoms persist after treatment, consult a doctor.An antifungal treatment of the skin of the nail bed with the gel can only be carried out after the fungal-infected nail substance has been removed.

In infants and small children, the preparation should only be used under medical supervision.Be careful not to get any gel into the mouth of the infant or young child.The gel has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no sufficient data from the use of bifonazole in pregnant women.Since bifonazole is only to be used on the skin and is therefore not expected to have a systemic effect, no risk is expected.Nevertheless, use during pregnancy should only take place after a careful medical benefit-risk assessment.Use should be avoided in the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with bifonazole.There are no studies on the influence of bifonazole on human fertility.

Notes

Carry out hygienic measures, such as changing linen regularly.Contains benzyl alcohol.Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
