Bifon® solution
Bifon® solution is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent used to treat fungal skin diseases. The active ingredient bifonazole penetrates the affected skin layers and fights the fungi there. In addition, bifonazole has an anti-inflammatory effect. The liquid form of the solution allows for easy and quick application, particularly suitable for the spaces between the toes and for mild fungal nail infections after removal of the infected nail substance.
Active ingredient
The active ingredient in Bifon® solution is bifonazole. One milliliter of the solution contains 10 milligrams of bifonazole.Other ingredients include ethanol 96% and isopropyl myristate.
Areas of application
Bifon® solution is used for various fungal skin diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur or Corynebacterium minutissimum. These include:
Fungal infections of the skin and skin folds, fungal infections between fingers and toes, bran fungus, superficial yeast infections of the skin and dwarf lichen.
Mode of action
Bifonazole, the active ingredient in Bifon® solution, penetrates deep into the affected skin layers and kills the fungi. In addition, bifonazole has an anti-inflammatory effect, which helps relieve symptoms.
Application
Bifon® solution should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.As a rule, about three drops of the solution are enough for an area the size of a palm. Before each use, the affected skin areas should be washed and dried thoroughly, especially in hard-to-reach areas such as between the toes.
In order to achieve lasting healing, treatment should not be stopped after the acute symptoms have subsided.Therapy should be continued for at least 14 days after the symptoms disappear. If the condition worsens or there is no improvement after about a week, you should see a doctor.
Contraindications
