Bifonazole Aristo® cream

Bifonazol Aristo® Cream is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent used to treat fungal diseases of the skin, feet and hands.The active ingredient bifonazole penetrates the affected skin layers and kills the fungus.It also has an anti-inflammatory effect.The cream is easy to use as it only needs to be applied to the affected skin areas and rubbed in gently once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.It is well tolerated and offers an inexpensive alternative to treating fungal infections.The cream can be used on infants, children and adults, but it should only be used on infants and young children under medical supervision.

Areas of application

Bifonazol Aristo® Cream is used to treat fungal skin diseases caused by various pathogens such as dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other fungi such as Malassezia furfur as well as infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum.These include:

Mycoses of the skin and skin folds, such as tinea corporis and tinea inguinalis, mycoses between fingers and toes, such as tinea pedis and tinea manuum, pityriasis versicolor, superficial yeast infections of the skin (candidiasis) and dwarf ringworm (erythrasma).

Active ingredients and ingredients

The Bifonazol Aristo® cream contains the active ingredient bifonazole in a concentration of 10 mg per gram of cream.It also contains the following excipients: (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, cetyl palmitate, cetostearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water and benzyl alcohol.

Contraindications

The cream must not be used if you are allergic to bifonazole or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage and application

The usual dose of Bifonazol Aristo® Cream is a thin layer on the affected skin areas once a day.To apply to an area the size of a palm, around 1 g of cream (corresponding to 0.5 - 1 cm strand length) is generally sufficient.The duration of use depends on the type and extent of the disease and should not be stopped too early in order to achieve complete healing.

Foot mycoses and between toe mycoses should be treated over a period of 3 weeks.Mycoses on the rest of the body, on the hands and in skin folds require a treatment period of 2 to 3 weeks.Bran fungus and erythrasma should be treated for 2 weeks, while superficial skin candidiasis requires 2 to 4 weeks of treatment.

If your condition worsens or does not improve after about 1 week, you should see a doctor.If you have used more of the cream than you should, you can continue treatment at the prescribed dose, as no adverse effects are expected in the event of a short-term overdose.If you forget to use it, continue treatment as indicated in the dosage instructions.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the cream, especially if you have had a history of hypersensitivity to other antifungals.Avoid eye contact with the product.If symptoms persist after treatment, please consult a doctor.An antifungal treatment of the skin of the nail bed can only be carried out after the fungal-infected nail substance has been removed.

The cream has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.There are no sufficient data from the use of bifonazole in pregnant women.Since bifonazole is only to be used on the skin and is therefore not expected to have a systematic effect, no risk is expected.Nevertheless, for reasons of caution, bifonazole should only be used during pregnancy after a careful medical benefit-risk assessment.The use of bifonazole should be avoided in the first 3 months of pregnancy.Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with bifonazole.

Notes

Hygienic measures such as regular linen changes should be carried out during treatment.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
