Naproxen - 1 A Pharma® is a pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic medicine from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR).The active ingredient blocks the messenger substances in the body that are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.Naproxen has proven particularly useful in the treatment of period pain.No prescription is required for this product.

Naproxen - 1 A Pharma® 250 mg for period pain contains the active ingredient naproxen.One tablet contains 250 mg naproxen.The other ingredients are crospovidone, hydroxypropyl cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch and iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O.

Area of application

The drug Naproxen-1A Pharma 250mg is particularly suitable for relieving mild to moderate period pain.It is suitable for young people aged 12 and over as well as adults.The tablets should be taken with liquid, such as a glass of water, every 8 to 12 hours.Taking before meals is recommended.

Dosage

Recommended use of Naproxen - 1 A Pharma® 250 mg for period pain: Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.If taking this medicine is necessary for more than 4 days or if symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.

The recommended dose is: Age adults and adolescents 12 years and older.First dose 1-2 tablets (equivalent to up to 500 mg naproxen).Another single dose to be taken at intervals of 8-12 hours: 1 tablet (equivalent to 250 mg naproxen).Maximum daily dose of up to 3 tablets (equivalent to up to 750 mg naproxen).Patients with impaired liver or kidney function should not take more than 2 tablets per day, divided into 2 divided doses.

Intake

Please take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water), if possible before eating.This promotes the onset of effect.For patients who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the tablets with meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.Simultaneous use of naproxen with other NSAR, including so-called COX-2 inhibitors, should be avoided.

Older patients are more likely to experience side effects after using NSAR , especially bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines, which can be fatal under certain circumstances.Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.

Medicines such as these may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack ("myocardial infarction") or stroke.Any risk is more likely with high doses and prolonged treatment.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration (maximum 4 days).If you have heart problems or a previous stroke, or think you may be at risk of these conditions (for example, if you have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, or are a smoker), you should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.If pregnancy is discovered while using naproxen, the doctor should be notified.You may only take naproxen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.If you take naproxen for more than a few days after the 20th week of pregnancy, it may cause kidney problems in your unborn baby, which may lead to a reduced amount of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby (oligohydramnios) or narrowing of a blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) in your baby's heart.If you need treatment for more than a few days, your doctor may recommend additional monitoring.

Naproxen must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.It can cause kidney and heart problems in your unborn baby. It can affect you and your baby's bleeding tendency and may cause labor to start later or take longer than expected.Naproxen should not be used during the puerperium due to possible increase in postpartum bleeding.

The active ingredient naproxen and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.As a precaution, naproxen should be avoided during breastfeeding.
