Directions for use of the article Calcilac Chewable Tablets: Calcilac Chewable Tablets contain 500 mg calcium and 400 I.U. vitamin D3. They are taken to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D3 deficiencies in elderly people and to support specific osteoporosis treatment. They should only be taken as directed by a doctor. There are some contraindications, such as elevated calcium levels, renal calculi and vitamin D overdose. There may be side effects such as constipation, nausea and skin rash.
