Directions for use of Calcilac chewable tablets: Calcilac KT is a medicinal product containing 500 mg calcium and 400 I.U. vitamin D3. It is used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in elderly people and to help with osteoporosis. It is important to read the package leaflet and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. The medicine should not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients, have high levels of calcium in your blood or urine, have calcium-containing kidney stones, have impaired kidney function, have high levels of vitamin D in your blood or have certain medical conditions. The recommended dosage for adults and elderly people is 1 chewable tablet twice a day. It is taken during or between meals. The tablets can be chewed or sucked. In case of an overdose, symptoms such as increased calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in the urine, constipation, abdominal pain, nausea, hives and itching may occur. In such cases, a doctor should be contacted immediately. Persons with certain diseases or conditions, such as long-term treatment, impaired kidney function, sarcoidosis or phenylketonuria, should use the medicinal product with particular caution. In the case of long-term treatment, the calcium content of the blood should be checked regularly. The KT medicinal product is not suitable for children and adolescents. Pregnant women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine so as not to exceed the recommended daily dosage.
