Nystatin acis® cream

Nystatin acis® Cream is a topical treatment for fungal skin infections, particularly those caused by Candida spp.caused, such as diaper candidiasis.The cream is particularly suitable for sensitive skin areas as it is neither greasy nor drying.It contains hydrophilic components, mainly water, which ensure good spreadability.Due to the water content and the associated risk of microbial contamination, the cream contains a preservative, namely methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate.

The active ingredient nystatin in the cream has a specific fungicidal or fungistatic effect against Candida albicans infections and related yeast species.The additional hydrophilic ingredients ensure pleasant use on particularly sensitive skin areas.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

Nystatin acis® Cream is used to treat proven nystatin-sensitive yeast infections of the skin, especially when Candida spp. is involved, such as diaper candidiasis.The cream relieves symptoms of Candida mycoses of the skin, such as perianal and genital mycoses.

Mode of action

Nystatin acis® Cream has a fungicidal effect or inhibits the growth and reproduction of fungi against Candida albicans infections and related yeast species.The hydrophilic components in the cream, mainly water, ensure good spreadability, which is particularly beneficial on delicate and delicate skin areas.Due to the water content, there is a possibility of microbial contamination, which is why the cream contains a preservative.

Ingredients of Nystatin acis® cream: 1 g cream contains 100,000 IU nystatin.The other ingredients are macrogol stearate 2000, macrogol stearate 5000, cetyl alcohol (Ph.Eur.), methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.) (E218), sorbitan sesquioleate, glycerol monostearate, thick paraffin, propylene glycol and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient Nystatin or one of the excipients mentioned, Nystatin acis® Cream should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use of Nystatin acis® Cream: The cream should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 2 to 4 times a day and rubbed in lightly.In severe cases, hourly application may prove useful.The cream should be applied for about 6 days until the disease subsides.To ensure complete therapeutic success, treatment should be continued for another 8 to 10 days.

Intake

Apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas and rub in lightly.

Patient information

Cetyl alcohol can cause localized skin irritation, such as contact dermatitis.This medicine contains 100 mg of propylene glycol per 1 g of cream.Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation.

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.Do not store above 25°C.After opening the tube for the first time, Nystatin acis® cream has a shelf life of 6 months.
