Instructions for use of the article UrgoTül Foam Foam wound dressing 6 cm x 6 cm UrgoTül Foam is an absorbent foam wound dressing with an innovative technology called microadhesive lipidocolloid matrix. This technology involves coating a polyurethane foam dressing with a microadhesive lipidocolloid matrix. This facilitates the application, positioning and atraumatic removal of the dressing. UrgoTül Foam consists of a microadhesive TLC-matrix in contact with the wound and an absorbent polyurethane foam dressing. It also has an elastic non-woven carrier made of polyurethane. The hydrocolloid particles of the microadhesive TLC-matrix take on a gel-like consistency with the wound exudate and form a lipid-colloid film at the interface between the wound and the wound dressing. This maintains a physiological environment for wound healing. The dressing forms a gel in contact with the wound, allowing atraumatic removal and painless dressing changes. It also protects the skin around the wound from damage. The absorbent foam dressing ensures optimal drainage of exudates and protects the skin from maceration. The soft and adaptable backing material ensures good adaptation of the dressing to the anatomical relief of the wound. The micro-adhesive wound dressing facilitates the implementation and monitoring of the treatment. For application, the wound should be cleansed according to the usual care protocol and irrigated with sterile physiological saline. The wound environment should be dried thoroughly. The size of the dressing can be adjusted with sterile scissors. The microadhesive side of UrgoTül Foam should be placed directly on the wound and fixed with a secondary dressing. Depending on the doctor's prescription, the dressing can also be used under a compression bandage. UrgoTül Foam is suitable for the treatment of all exuding chronic and acute wounds, including lower leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, 2nd degree burns, skin abrasions, traumatic wounds, postoperative wounds and tumour-induced wounds.
