Instructions for use for Vitagamma® D3 1,000 IU vitamin D3 tablets, 200 pcs
Vitagamma® Vitamin D3 1,000 IU tablets
Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that is of great importance for health, performance and well-being.It plays a central role in numerous metabolic processes in the body. However, our lifestyle has changed significantly in recent years and many people spend most of their day indoors. This limits natural vitamin D production through sunlight. In addition, we only cover around 10% of our vitamin D requirements through food.In order to prevent undersupply, it can make sense to additionally supply vitamin D from outside.
No prescription is required for this product.
Areas of application
Vitamin D is an important component of numerous metabolic processes in the body and is therefore of central importance for health, performance and well-being.Vitamin D is often recommended to prevent vitamin D deficiency diseases, rickets and to support the treatment of osteoporosis. If the vitamin D supply cannot be adequately met, it is recommended to supplement it from outside.Vitagamma® D3 1,000 I.U. is suitable for prevention of a recognizable risk of vitamin D deficiency disease, for prevention of rickets in adults and premature babies, and for support as part of osteoporosis treatment.
Almost 60% of the German population is inadequately supplied with vitamin D.As an essential nutritional component, vitamin D is increasingly at the center of medical research when it comes to maintaining health, performance and well-being.As a central component of numerous metabolic processes in the body, vitamin D is an important factor for our vitality.
To prevent rickets
Vitagamma® D3 1,000 IU is approved as a medicine to prevent rickets and rickets in premature babies. The tablet can be divided into equal doses for age-appropriate dosage.
Vitamin D deficiency diseases
Vitagamma D3 1000 IU has been proven to be effective for preventing a recognizable risk of vitamin D deficiency in otherwise healthy people without disrupting the absorption of vitamin D in the intestine. To cover your vitamin D needs, only 1 intake per day is necessary.

Dosage
Adults take the tablet with sufficient liquid. For infants and small children, it is recommended to crush the tablet as finely as possible with the back of a spoon, mix it with water on a teaspoon and give the suspension directly into the child's mouth during a meal.Adding the suspended tablet to a bottle or porridge meal is not advisable.
According to the German Nutrition Society (DGE), the required daily requirement for vitamin D is 400 IU (10μg) for infants up to 12 months, and 800 IU (20μg) for children aged 1 and over and adults. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has set a maximum daily dosage of 4,000 IU for adults and children aged 11 and over and 2,000 IU for children up to 10 years of age as the upper limit for lifelong safe vitamin D intake.
Vitamin D is primarily formed through exposure to sunlight; we can only get around 10 percent of our vitamin D requirements through our diet.A pure food supply can only be achieved if large quantities of fatty fish such as herring, eel and salmon are regularly consumed.
Unfortunately, solariums are no substitute for a lack of sun exposure.Equipping with UV-filters severely limits the amount of UV-B. In the months from April to October, which are usually sufficiently sunny in Germany, it is enough for fair-skinned, young people to sunbathe for 15 minutes several times a week.Due to the body's storage capacity, a supply of vitamin D could be created at least for the first few weeks of autumn and winter.
Intake
Infants and young children: The tablets should be used with particular caution in infants and young children as they may not be able to swallow the tablets and may choke. It is recommended that you instead crush the tablets as directed and mix them with water or use drops or emulsions.Divide the tablet into as small pieces as possible, crush it as finely as possible with the back of a spoon and mix it with a little water on a teaspoon. This suspension is best given directly into the child's mouth during a meal.Adding the suspended tablet to a bottle or porridge meal for infants is not recommended, as complete intake cannot be guaranteed.
Adults: Take the tablets with sufficient liquid.
Patient information
If there is a tendency to form calcium-containing kidney stones, in patients with impaired excretion of calcium and phosphate via the kidneys, in treatment with benzothiadiazine derivatives and in immobilized patients, it should be taken with caution. In patients suffering from sarcoidosis, the conversion of vitamin D to its active form should be monitored. If additional vitamin D or calcium is administered, this should only be done under medical supervision. In patients with impaired renal function, the effect on calcium and phosphate balance should be monitored.
Daily doses above 500 IU/d: During long-term treatment, calcium levels in the blood and urine should be monitored regularly and kidney function should be checked by measuring serum creatinine. This review is particularly important in elderly patients and during concurrent treatment with cardiac glycosides or diuretics. In case of hypercalcemia or signs of reduced renal function, the dose must be reduced or treatment interrupted.
There is no evidence that the drug has an influence on the ability to drive or concentrate.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Pregnancy: Daily doses up to 500 IU/d: So far, no risks are known in the specified dose range.Long-term overdoses of vitamin D must be prevented during pregnancy, as the resulting hypercalcemia can lead to physical and mental disability as well as congenital heart and eye diseases in the child.Daily doses over 500 IU/d: During pregnancy, the medicine should only be taken according to strict indications and only in the dosage that is absolutely necessary to correct the deficiency.
Breastfeeding: Vitamin D and its metabolic products pass into breast milk.An overdose in infants caused in this way has not been observed.
