Calcium Vitamin D3 acis® 500 mg/400 IU chewable tablets are chewable tablets that contain calcium and vitamin D3.These two substances are essential for building bones.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

These chewable tablets can be taken to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in older people.They are also suitable as a supplement to support specific osteoporosis therapy for patients at risk of vitamin D and calcium deficiency.If you do not feel better or even feel worse after a month of taking it, you should consult a doctor.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in Calcium Vitamin D3 acis® 500 mg/400 IU chewable tablets are calcium and colecalciferol (vitamin D3).One chewable tablet contains 1,250 mg of calcium carbonate, equivalent to 500 mg of calcium, and 10 micrograms of colecalciferol, equivalent to 400 IU of vitamin D3.

The other ingredients include sorbitol, povidone, croscarmellose sodium, starch hydrolyzate, lemon flavor (contains corn maltodextrin, flavorings and all-rac-α-tocopherol), magnesium stearate (vegetable), modified corn starch, aspartame, sucrose, sodium ascorbate, medium-chain triglycerides, colloidal silica and all-rac-α-tocopherol.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It is also not suitable for use if the calcium content in the blood or urine is too high, if there is severe kidney dysfunction, if there are kidney stones or if the vitamin D content in the blood is too high.

Dosage and intake

The recommended daily dose is one chewable tablet twice.The tablets can be chewed or sucked.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the chewable tablets if you are on long-term treatment, if you have impaired kidney function or a strong tendency to kidney stone formation, if you suffer from sarcoidosis, if you are immobilized with osteoporosis or if you are taking other vitamin D or calcium preparations.

Additional doses of calcium and vitamin D may only be taken under strict medical supervision.Your doctor will decide whether a calcium and/or vitamin D3 supplement can be used in these circumstances.

If you use the chewable tablets for osteoporosis, it is recommended to have the calcium level in the blood (calcemia) checked before starting treatment.In the case of long-term treatment, the calcium content of the blood must be checked regularly.Depending on the results, your doctor may decide to reduce the dose or stop treatment.

If your kidney function is impaired and you are being treated with these chewable tablets, your doctor should monitor the effect of the treatment on calcium and phosphate balance.

The chewable tablets are not intended for use in children and adolescents.No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been conducted.However, a detrimental effect is unlikely.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, you can use this medicine for calcium and vitamin D deficiency.During pregnancy, daily intake should not exceed 1,500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D.The daily dose must not exceed one tablet per day.

If you are breastfeeding, you can also use the chewable tablets.However, if your child receives additional doses of vitamin D, it should be noted that the active ingredients contained in the chewable tablets pass into breast milk.

Notes

The product contains aspartame, sorbitol and sucrose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
