For adults and young people aged 12 and over

Macrogol HEXAL® Orange has a gentle effect and stimulates natural intestinal movement.It has no habituation effect and has a natural orange aroma.

Application

Adults and adolescents 12 years and older, as well as older patients, can take one sachet one to three times daily, depending on the severity of constipation.It can be taken regardless of meals or drinks.

To prepare the solution, open the bag and pour the contents into a glass.Add 125ml water and stir until the powder is completely dissolved.The solution can then be drunk.The prepared solution can be stored in the refrigerator (2°C-8°C) and used within 24 hours.

The treatment usually lasts two weeks.If constipation persists, you should contact your doctor.If constipation is caused by diseases such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis or by medication, longer use may be recommended.

Mode of action

Macrogol 3350 expands in the intestines when water is absorbed and increases stool volume.This stimulates intestinal motility and softens hard stools, eventually leading to defecation.Macrogol HEXAL® Orange also contains sodium and potassium, which can be lost when using laxatives.These electrolytes are balanced through the use of Macrogol HEXAL® Orange.

Contraindications

Macrogol HEXAL® Orange must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, if there is a perforated intestinal wall, intestinal narrowing or intestinal obstruction, risk of intestinal perforation, severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, toxic megacolon, abdominal pain with an unknown cause and in children under 12 years of age.

Dosage

For constipation, adults and young people aged 12 and over take the contents of one sachet, dissolved in a glass of water (approx. 125 ml), one to three times a day.It can be used without regard to meals and should normally not last longer than two weeks.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking it.As with all laxatives, an organic disorder should be ruled out before starting treatment. The preparation should not be taken continuously daily over a longer period of time without first clarifying the cause of the constipation.If abdominal pain persists, you should seek medical advice.

If diarrhea occurs, patients prone to water or electrolyte imbalances should exercise caution and checking electrolyte levels should be considered.If you notice any of the above signs or symptoms, you should stop taking it and consult a doctor immediately.
