Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream
Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream is a medicine for the treatment of fungal skin diseases.It is effective against various yeasts and skin fungi, including athlete's foot.
Area of application
This medicine is used to treat fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum.It can also be used for yeast infections of the skin, mainly caused by Candida albicans, as well as for pityriasis versicolor, caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (Malassezia furfur).
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient in this preparation is terbinafine hydrochloride with a concentration of 10 mg per gram of cream.The other ingredients include cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water and benzyl alcohol.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients.Hypersensitivity can manifest itself as red spots, swelling of the skin or itching.
Dosage
The cream should always be used exactly as directed by your doctor.Adults and teenagers over 12 years of age can use the cream as follows:
For athlete's foot (tinea pedis), the cream is used once a day for a week.Symptoms can include itching, redness, scales between the toes and on the soles of the feet, cracks in the skin as well as weeping blisters and an unpleasant odor.
For ringworm (tinea corporis), the cream is also used once a day for a week.Ringworm manifests itself as slowly growing, itchy, red and scaly circular patches that can be distributed all over the body.
For skin fungus (cutaneous candidiasis), the cream is used once a day for one to two weeks.Candida can cause skin infection in certain circumstances, often in warm, moist areas of the body such as the groin or under the breasts.Symptoms include itching, redness and scaling.
For bran ringworm (pityriasis versicolor), the cream is used once or twice a day for two weeks.Symptoms consist of slightly itchy and slightly scaly patches that appear lighter when tanned and light brown when exposed to little sunlight.
Older people generally do not need a different dosage than younger patients.Its use is not recommended for children under 12 years of age due to limited experience.
If you think the effect is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.In case of accidental overdose or ingestion by children, you should contact a doctor or emergency room.If you accidentally come into contact with your eyes, you should rinse them thoroughly under running water.
Application
The cream is intended for external use on the skin.
Patient information
Particular caution is required as the medicine may only be used externally and should not come into contact with the eyes.No interaction studies have been conducted.The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children.
Pregnancy
The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or if pregnancy is planned.Please inform your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment.Since terbinafine passes into breast milk, the preparation should not be used during breastfeeding.

No prescription is required for this product.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
