Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream
Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream is a medicine for the treatment of fungal skin diseases.It is effective against various yeasts and skin fungi, including athlete's foot.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient in this preparation is terbinafine hydrochloride with a concentration of 10 mg per gram of cream.In addition, the cream contains the following excipients: cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water and benzyl alcohol.
Areas of application
This medicine is used to treat fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum.It is also effective against yeast infections of the skin, mainly those caused by the genus Candida, as well as against pityriasis versicolor, caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (Malassezia furfur).
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to terbinafine or any of the other ingredients.Hypersensitivity can manifest itself as red spots, swelling of the skin or itching.
Dosage
The cream should always be used exactly as directed.Adults and teenagers over 12 years old can use the cream as follows:
For athlete's foot (tinea pedis), the cream should be used once a day for a week.Symptoms of athlete's foot can include itching, redness, scales between the toes and on the soles of the feet, cracks in the skin, weeping blisters and an unpleasant odor.
For ringworm (tinea corporis), the cream is also used once a day for a week.Ringworm appears as slow-growing, itchy, red, and scaly circular patches that can be distributed all over the body.
For skin fungus (cutaneous candidiasis), the cream is used once a day for one to two weeks.Candida can cause skin infection in certain circumstances, especially in warm, moist areas of the body such as the groin or under the breasts.Symptoms include itching, redness and scaling.
For bran ringworm (pityriasis versicolor), the cream is used once or twice a day for two weeks.Symptoms consist of slightly itchy and slightly scaly patches.In people with suntans, the patches are generally lighter than the rest of the skin, while in people with little or no sun exposure they usually appear light brown.
Older people generally do not need a different dosage than younger patients.Its use is not recommended for children under 12 years of age due to limited experience.
No prescription is required for this product.
Intake
The cream is intended to be applied to the skin.Care should be taken to ensure that the cream does not get into the eyes.
Patient information
Particular caution is required as the medicine may only be used externally.No drug interaction studies should have been carried out.The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children.
Pregnancy
The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or if pregnancy is planned.Terbinafine passes into breast milk, so the drug should not be used if you are breast-feeding a child.Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.
Notes
Contains cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol and benzyl alcohol.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
