Areas of application

Aspirin Plus C effervescent tablets are used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches, period pains and painful symptoms associated with colds (e.g. headaches, sore throats and body aches) as well as fever.The effervescent tablets provide quick help because the active ingredient is released when dissolved in water and is absorbed more quickly by the body.Another advantage is the vitamin C it contains, which strengthens the immune system and protects the stomach lining.

Mode of action

Aspirin Plus C contains two active ingredients: acetylsalicylic acid (ASS) and vitamin C. Acetylsalicylic acid has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect.It blocks the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.Vitamin C accelerates the effects of ASS and strengthens the immune system.It also reduces irritation of the gastric mucosa, which improves tolerance.

One tablet of Aspirin Plus C effervescent tablets contains 400 mg acetylsalicylic acid (ASS) and 240 mg vitamin C (ascorbic acid).Other ingredients are sodium dihydrogen citrate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, citric acid and sodium carbonate (H2O-free).

Dosage

Before taking, the effervescent tablet must be completely dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.Taking it on an empty stomach should be avoided to reduce gastrointestinal symptoms.Children aged 9 to 12 can take one effervescent tablet one to three times a day (total daily dose of 3 effervescent tablets).Adolescents and adults can take one to two effervescent tablets once or twice a day (total daily dose 3-6 effervescent tablets).The interval between applications should be four to eight hours.

Intake

The single dose can be taken at intervals of 4 to 8 hours up to 3 times daily if necessary.However, the total daily dose must not be exceeded.

Patient information

Particular caution is required in the event of hypersensitivity to other painkillers, allergies, asthma, hay fever, nasal polyps, chronic respiratory diseases, simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, stomach or intestinal ulcers, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding, impaired liver or kidney function, and before operations.In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice.

Pregnancy

The medicine should not be taken in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.Acetylsalicylic acid should not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.High doses or prolonged use should be avoided during breastfeeding.

Other

In rare cases, frequent and long-term use can lead to stomach ulcers and anemia.If black stools occur, a doctor should be contacted immediately.Chronic use may cause headaches, which may lead to repeated use.Long-term use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.
