Cetirizine STADA® juice 10 mg/10 ml oral solution

Cetirizine STADA® juice is an antiallergic drug used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to treat chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).The active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride helps suppress the body's allergic reactions.

Areas of application

Cetirizine STADA® juice is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, and chronic hives.It blocks the effects of histamine, a substance found in body tissues that can cause allergic reactions such as a runny or stuffy nose, itchy and watery eyes, and itchy skin.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Cetirizine STADA® juice is cetirizine dihydrochloride.Each 10 ml solution contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.The other ingredients are acetic acid 99%, glycerol, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.), sodium acetate trihydrate, propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (Ph.Eur.), propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing) (Ph.Eur.), purified water and banana aroma.

Dosage and application

Cetirizine STADA® juice should always be taken exactly as directed.The recommended dose is:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 ml (2 full scoops) once daily.

Children between 6 and 12 years: 5 ml (1 full scoop) twice daily.

Children between 2 and 6 years: 2.5 ml (½ scoop) twice daily.

The juice should preferably be taken in the evening and can be consumed with or without food.The duration of treatment depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms.If you have any questions about dosage or use, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

Cetirizine STADA® juice must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to cetirizine dihydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.The medicine should also not be used if you have severe kidney disease or are on dialysis.

Side effects

Possible side effects may include gastrointestinal distress, headache, dizziness, fatigue, sleepiness, restlessness, and dry mouth.If you experience side effects, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep Cetirizine STADA® juice out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the carton and label.After first opening, the medicine has a shelf life of 3 months.No special storage conditions are required.

Important notes

No prescription is required for this product.Cetirizine STADA® juice contains sorbitol and sodium.Caution is advised if you are allergic to the sweetener saccharin (E number E 954) or have an intolerance to fructose.Parabens (preservatives) can cause hypersensitivity reactions.
