Effortil® drops - for circulatory regulation disorders

Effortil® drops are used for circulatory regulation disorders with low blood pressure (hypotension).When changing position, such as getting up from lying or sitting, these can lead to symptoms such as dizziness, a feeling of weakness, paleness, sweating, flickering or blackening of the eyes, accompanied by a significant drop in blood pressure without an increase in heart rate.

Effortil® drops help to quickly get the circulation going in the event of functional problems and low blood pressure.The active ingredient etilefrin stimulates the circulation.The preparation is quickly effective, well tolerated, can be dosed individually and is alcohol-free.

The medicine is a blood pressure increasing agent.It is used for circulatory regulation disorders with low blood pressure (hypotension), which are accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness, weakness, paleness, sweating, flickering or blackening of the eyes as well as a significant drop in blood pressure without an increase in heart rate when changing position.

The solution contains 7.5 mg of etilefrin hydrochloride per milliliter, which is approximately 15 drops.Other ingredients include sodium disulfite, purified water, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate as excipients.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to etilefrin hydrochloride, sodium disulfite, methyl (4-hydroxybenzoate) or propyl (4-hydroxybenzoate), in circulatory regulation disorders with hypertensive reaction, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, pheochromocytoma, angle-closure glaucoma, emptying disorders of the urinary bladder, sclerotic vascular changes, coronary heart disease, decompensatedHeart failure, tachycardic arrhythmias, cardiac valve stenosis, narrowing of the large arteries, hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, in the first three months of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.The recommended dose for adults and children over 6 years of age is 10 to 20 drops 3 times a day, which corresponds to a daily dose of 15 to 30 mg of etilefrin hydrochloride.Children between 2 and 6 years of age should take 5 to 10 drops 3 times a day, which corresponds to a daily dose of 7.5 to 15 mg of etilefrin hydrochloride.Children under 2 years of age receive 2 to 5 drops 3 times daily, which corresponds to a daily dose of 3 to 7.5 mg of etilefrin hydrochloride.

Take the preparation with a glass of liquid, preferably before eating.For children, it is recommended to give it in a teaspoon of juice or sweetened tea.The medicine should not be taken in the late afternoon or evening as the stimulating effect can make it difficult to fall asleep.The necessity of taking it should be checked regularly.

If you have taken a larger amount of the medicine than you should, symptoms of poisoning such as a rapid increase in heart rate, cardiac arrhythmias, excessive increase in blood pressure, sweating, agitation, nausea and vomiting may occur.In infants and young children, an overdose may cause respiratory depression and loss of consciousness.In such cases, contact a doctor immediately.

If you forget to take a dose, take the normal dose at the next scheduled time.Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Discontinuing the preparation may cause the symptoms to recur.

Pregnancy
