Areas of application

This medicine is used for the acute treatment of headaches associated with migraine attacks, both with and without aura.It can also be used for mild to moderate pain.It provides a powerful pain-relieving effect during an acute migraine attack and may also improve associated nausea and hypersensitivity to noise and light.The effect lasts up to 10 hours and is well tolerated by the stomach.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient of this drug is phenazone with a concentration of 500 mg per tablet.It also contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, vegetable magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), and highly disperse silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive or allergic to phenazone, pyrazolone, phenylbutazone or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in the case of a genetic glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency or acute hepatic porphyria.In addition, the medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.It is not suitable for infants and children under 12 years of age and there is insufficient evidence for this age group.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Adults and adolescents over 15 years of age can take 2 tablets (equivalent to 1000 mg of phenazone) for the acute treatment of migraine headaches, if necessary several times a day at intervals of 4 to 8 hours.The maximum total daily dose should not exceed 8 tablets.For mild to moderate pain, 1 to 2 tablets can be taken, also at intervals of 4 to 8 hours.Children aged 12 to 15 years receive one tablet 1 to 2 times a day, 6 to 8 hours apart, with the total daily dose not exceeding 2 tablets.In older people, in a reduced general condition or with impaired liver function, the dose should be reduced as the excretion of metabolic products may be delayed.In these cases, the total daily dose should not exceed 3 tablets.

Medicines containing phenazone should not be taken for longer than 3 to 4 days without medical or dental advice.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

This medicine is taken orally and should be consumed with sufficient fluid, such as a glass of water, regardless of meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Patients with known blood count damage should only take the medicine under medical monitoring of their blood count.Patients with known allergies or certain illnesses with a possible allergic cause are more likely to have a shock reaction.This particularly affects patients with bronchial asthma, chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract, pain and rheumatism allergy, allergy to food, preservatives, alcoholic beverages, fur or hair dyes.In older people and patients with acute liver damage, the dosage should be based on the lower recommended limit, as the effect of the drug is stronger and lasts longer.

There are no special requirements regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Since there is no experience with the use of the drug during pregnancy and the active ingredient passes into breast milk, the drug must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
