Clotrimazole AL Spray 1% is a medicine for the treatment of fungal skin diseases.The active ingredient clotrimazole penetrates the affected skin layers and fights the fungus by attacking its cell membrane.This inhibits the growth of the fungus and eventually dies.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

The spray is used to treat fungal skin diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur.This also includes skin infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum.Typical areas of application are fungal infections of the feet, skin and skin folds, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma and superficial candidiasis.

Mode of action

Clotrimazole AL Spray 1% contains the antifungal agent clotrimazole.During the growth phase of the fungus, clotrimazole attacks its cell membrane, causing it to become leaky.As a result, the fungus loses the ability to reproduce and eventually dies.

Clotrimazole AL Spray 1% contains the following active ingredients and excipients: 10 mg clotrimazole, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400 and propylene glycol.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

Before each use, the affected skin areas should be washed and dried thoroughly.The solution is sprayed thinly onto the diseased skin and the adjacent healthy skin areas 2 to 3 times a day and rubbed in.The duration of treatment depends on the extent and location of the disease and should be continued for a duration of at least 4 weeks.In the case of athlete's foot, treatment should be continued for about 2 weeks until all signs of the disease have disappeared.

Intake

Before the first use, you should press the spray head 1 or 2 times.The spray distance should be 10 to 30 cm.

Patient information

The medicine must not get into the eyes and should not be applied to mucous membranes as some components may cause local irritation.Change towels, underwear and stockings that come into contact with the affected area of skin every day to support healing and prevent transmission.If the spray nozzle is clogged, you can easily clean the outside of it with warm water.To avoid damaging the nozzle, do not use sharp objects for cleaning.

Pregnancy

Before using this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.There is only a limited amount of data available on the use of clotrimazole in pregnant women.If you use the medicine as described or as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist, only a very small amount of the active ingredient clotrimazole will be absorbed into the body.As a precautionary measure, clotrimazole should not be used in the first 3 months of pregnancy.Because of the low absorption when applied topically, the drug can be used during breastfeeding when used as directed.The medicine should not be applied directly to the breast area during breastfeeding.There are no studies on the influence of clotrimazole on human fertility.

Notes

Do not get the medicine into your eyes.Appropriate hygienic measures should be carried out during use.Clotrimazole AL Spray 1% contains propylene glycol.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
