Information for use of the article Nystaderm Paste: Nystaderm Paste contains the active ingredient nystatin and is used to treat skin infections with nystatin-sensitive yeasts such as nappy dermatitis. The paste should be applied thinly to the affected areas of skin, 2-4 times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks. If there is no improvement after 7 days, a doctor should be consulted. In case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, the medicine must not be used. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may use the preparation. The package leaflet should be read carefully before use. Nystaderm paste works by the active ingredient nystatin damaging the outer shell of the fungi, especially the yeast Candida albicans. This impairs the functions of the envelope and the cell may die or its growth is inhibited. In addition to nystatin, the paste also contains zinc oxide, which supports wound healing and soothes inflammation. Nystaderm paste is free of fragrances or perfume oils.
