Mode of action

Nystaderm® Paste has nystatin and zinc oxide, which are particularly effective in combination.Nystatin is an antifungal drug that is used to combat fungal infection by destroying the synthesis of components of the fungal cell membrane.At the same time, nystatin prevents another fungal infection.Zinc oxide has anti-inflammatory and weak disinfectant properties.It relieves symptoms and absorbs excess moisture.

Dosage

Recommended use of Nystaderm® Paste: Apply thinly to the affected skin areas 2 - 4 times a day.The symptoms usually subside after just a few days.However, to ensure complete therapeutic success, treatment should be continued for a few days after complete healing.The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks.

Particular caution is required when using it: When using Nystaderm® Paste in the genital or anal area, the oils and fats it contains as excipients can lead to a reduction in tear resistance and thus to an impairment of the safety of latex condoms.

Pregnancy

Nystatin, the active ingredient in Nystaderm® Paste, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic doses after oral administration, via intact skin or mucous membranes.Nystatin does not cross the placenta and is not expected to pass into breast milk.Nystaderm® paste can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
