Vomex A Coated Tablets are coated tablets with the active ingredient dimenhydrinate. They are used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting of various causes, especially motion sickness. The coated tablets are suitable for children over 6 years of age weighing more than 30 kg, adolescents and adults. It should be noted that they contain lactose and sucrose (sugar). The exact dosage depends on the patient's body weight. In children, a single dose is usually sufficient to relieve the symptoms. However, no more than 5 milligrams of dimenhydrinate per kilogram of body weight should be taken in 24 hours. For children from 6 to 14 years of age and weighing more than 30 kg, the recommended dosage is 1 coated tablet 1-3 times a day, but not more than a total of 3 coated tablets per day. Adolescents aged 14 years and over and adults weighing over 56 kg can take 1-2 coated tablets 1-4 times a day, but not more than 8 coated tablets a day. The lozenges should be taken unchewed and with plenty of liquid. To prevent travel sickness, the first dose should be taken about 1/2 to 1 hour before the start of the journey. If necessary, further doses can be taken at regular intervals throughout the day, with at least 6 hours between doses. Treatment with Vomex A Coated Tablets is usually intended to be short term and should be reviewed by the doctor after 2 weeks. In the event of an overdose of Vomex A Coated Tablets, life-threatening symptoms may occur, especially in children under three years of age. In such cases, a doctor should be contacted immediately. Possible symptoms of an overdose are clouding of consciousness, drowsiness, dilation of the pupils, visual disturbances, accelerated heartbeat, fever, hot, reddened skin, dry mucous membranes, constipation, states of agitation, increased reflexes, delusions, convulsions and breathing disorders. The coated tablets should be stored at temperatures below 25°C and kept away from children. Vomex A Coated Tablets contain 50 mg dimenhydrinate per coated tablet as the active substance. Other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, carboxymethyl starch sodium, highly dispersed silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.
