Instructions for use for LOCERYL® cream against athlete's foot, 20 g
Treat athlete's foot with Loceryl cream against athlete's foot
Athlete's foot is a common skin disease that is often accompanied by itching and burning.Loceryl cream is a medicine for the treatment of athlete's foot that contains the active ingredient amorolfine. This active ingredient penetrates the affected skin and has a fungal killing effect. The cream is well tolerated, absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy residue. It's easy to use: apply once a day.
Benefits of Loceryl cream for athlete's foot
Loceryl cream offers several benefits:
The cream only needs to be used once a day, which makes it easier to use.It absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy residue, which increases tolerance. The active ingredient amorolfine penetrates the uppermost layers of skin and acts against the relevant fungal pathogens. The cream also relieves itching, redness and burning of the skin.
How does Loceryl cream work against athlete's foot?
The active ingredient in Loceryl cream is the anti-fungal broad-spectrum antimycotic amorolfine. After application, it penetrates the skin and develops its fungicidal effect. The treatment period is usually 2 to 6 weeks.
Who is Loceryl cream suitable for?
The Loceryl cream is particularly suitable for athlete's foot and can also be used as an accompanying treatment for nail fungus. It is also suitable for fungal skin diseases in the groin area, on the thighs and on the body as well as for fungal skin diseases caused by yeast fungi.
Recognizing athlete's foot
Itching or burning between the toes is often the first sign of a fungal infection.Athlete's foot usually settles in the spaces between the toes, but can also affect the heels and soles of the feet.Other symptoms include scaling, whitish swollen areas, red skin, cracked skin and fluid-filled blisters. As soon as athlete's foot is detected, treatment should begin to combat the fungus more effectively and quickly.
Causes of athlete's foot
The main cause of athlete's foot is the filamentous fungus Trichophyton rubrum.Feet and toenails are usually affected, but other areas of the skin can also be affected. In rare cases, yeast or mold can also lead to athlete's foot. The fungus multiplies on the skin and feeds on it.
Risk of infection from athlete's foot
Skin and nail fungus are contagious diseases that can be transmitted through contact with infected people or objects. There is a particular risk of infection in areas that people enter barefoot, such as public swimming pools, saunas, changing rooms and carpets in hotel rooms.
How can treatment against athlete's foot be supported?
To support treatment, the following measures can help:
Do not share towels or washcloths with other people.Wash these and socks as often as possible and at least 60 degrees.Avoid walking barefoot in swimming pools or saunas and ensure good blood circulation in your feet, e.g. by doing foot exercises.Wash your feet every day and then dry them carefully, especially between the toes.Since fungi can penetrate the skin particularly well through cracked areas of skin, you should always moisturize and care for your feet well.
Nail fungus and athlete's foot often occur together
Athlete's foot is often a side effect of nail fungus. If symptoms of foot and nail fungus occur at the same time, it may make sense to accompany the treatment of foot fungus with nail fungus therapy.Loceryl nail polish against nail fungus, for example, can be used for this purpose.

Dosage
Recommended use of Loceryl cream:
Apply Loceryl cream to the affected areas once a day.The fungus should be treated with the cream for at least 2 weeks and a maximum of 6 weeks without taking a break.Fungal infections do not heal on their own and are often very persistent.Without treatment, the fungus can spread to other areas of skin or nails and infect other people. Therefore, carry out the treatment until healing and a few days beyond. Because even if there are no longer any visibly affected areas, there can still be spores on the skin.
Intake
Apply the cream to the affected skin areas in the evening.
Patient information
Particular care is required when using it.Children, especially small children and infants, should not be treated with the product due to a lack of treatment experience.
Pregnancy
Due to a lack of clinical experience, pregnant women and nursing mothers are not allowed to use the product on larger or severely damaged or inflamed areas of skin, nor under an airtight bandage. This measure is necessary because a slight absorption of the active ingredient through the skin into the body cannot be completely ruled out if it is used over a large area or if the skin is severely damaged.Breastfeeding mothers should not use the product in the breast area.
