Information for use of the article Nystatin acis Film-Coated Tablets: - Important information (compulsory information): Nystatin acis Film-Coated Tablets. Active substance: Nystatin. Indications: Fungal infections with yeasts (Candida), such as: Fungal infections of the gastrointestinal tract, fungal infection of the gastrointestinal tract in the case of immune deficiency, caused by illness or treatment with defence-suppressing medicines such as cortisone. Product properties: - Nystatin acis Film-Coated Tablets are a treatment for fungal infections (antimycotic). - They are used for the topical intestinal treatment of proven nystatin-sensitive yeast infections of the gastrointestinal tract, especially as a result of therapy with antibiotics, cytostatics or corticoids. Dosage and directions for use: - Adults should take 1 tablet 3 times daily after a meal. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. - The tablets should be taken unchewed with some liquid. - The duration of use is at least 2 weeks and should be continued for a few days after freedom from symptoms has been achieved. Contraindications: - Use should be avoided in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients and in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Side effects: - Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, skin rash and hives. Composition: - The film-coated tablets contain the active substance nystatin and various excipients such as lactose monohydrate, cellulose powder and magnesium stearate. Important information: - The medicinal product should not be used in the case of allergies to antifungal agents, binders or talcum powder and in the case of allergies to certain dyes. - The medicinal product should be stored away from heat.
