Area of application
This medicine is used to provide short-term relief from mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, and to reduce fever. It is suitable for adults and teenagers with a body weight of 40 kg (from 12 years). The active ingredient ibuprofen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR) and has pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients. Its use is also contraindicated if there is a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation in connection with NSAR-intake, if there are existing or repeated stomach/duodenal ulcers or bleeding, as well as if there are allergic reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAR .Furthermore, the medicine must not be taken in cases of severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart muscle weakness, cerebral hemorrhage, other active bleeding, severe dehydration or during the last three months of pregnancy.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration.Adults and adolescents weighing 40 kg or more can take an initial dose of 1 tablet (400 mg).If necessary, another tablet can be taken every 6 hours, but not more than 3 tablets (1,200 mg) in 24 hours. The medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years or adolescents weighing less than 40 kg and is only intended for short-term use.If you take it for a long time or if symptoms worsen, you should seek medical advice.Patients with mild to moderate liver or kidney dysfunction or elderly patients should coordinate the dose with their doctor.
Intake

Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking, especially if you have an infection or certain pre-existing conditions or allergies.Anti-inflammatory painkillers can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, so you should not exceed the recommended dose and duration of treatment.Particular caution is required in the case of gastrointestinal diseases, liver or kidney dysfunction, allergic reactions and during pregnancy. If used for a long time, regular checks of liver values, kidney function and blood counts are necessary. If you have vision problems or signs of an allergic reaction, you should see a doctor immediately.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. The medicine should not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy as it may harm the unborn baby or cause problems during birth. In the first six months of pregnancy it should only be used as recommended by a doctor and in low doses. The medicine can be taken during breast-feeding if the recommended dose is adhered to and it is used for the shortest possible period of time. NSAR may impair fertility in women, but this effect is reversible upon discontinuation of the drug.
Ability to drive and use machines
When used as directed, the medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines. However, at higher doses, central nervous system side effects such as fatigue and dizziness may occur, which may impair responsiveness. This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol.
