MAGNESIUM Diasporal® 2 mmol injection solution

The solution for injection contains magnesium sulfate and water for injections.These ingredients occur naturally in the body.The product is a magnesium monopreparation that is used parenterally, i.e. intramuscularly or intravenously.It is used for cramps and tension, as well as in gynecology for preeclampsia, eclampsia and premature birth attempts.

Ingredients

Active ingredient per 5 ml solution (corresponds to 1 ampoule): 493 mg magnesium sulfate-7-water, which corresponds to 48.61 mg magnesium ions.The other ingredient included is water for injection purposes.

Areas of application

The preparation is used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency if this is the cause of muscle activity disorders such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.Furthermore, it can be used for eclampsia, pre-eclampsia and premature birth attempts.Therapy with magnesium sulfate is only indicated if the magnesium serum level is below normal values (0.8 - 1.1 mmol/l) and the calcium serum level is normal (2.2 - 2.7 mmol/l).
