Area of application
IbuDex 400 mg is a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent that is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.For example, it can help with headaches, toothaches or period pains.
Mode of action
The active ingredient ibuprofen in IbuDex 400 mg inhibits the body's own prostaglandin synthesis.Prostaglandins are messenger substances that are involved in the transmission of pain, the development of fever and inflammation.This means that IbuDex 400 mg has a pain-relieving, fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory effect.

One IbuDex 400 mg tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen.Other ingredients include corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate (vegetable), stearic acid (vegetable), croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, macrogol 400, carmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide (E171) and traces of carnauba wax.
What is IbuDex 400 mg used for?
IbuDex 400 mg is a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent that does not require a prescription but can be purchased in a pharmacy.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, as well as to reduce fever.No prescription is required for this product.
Application
The film-coated tablets of IbuDex 400 mg should be taken whole and with plenty of liquid, such as water.This can be done before or after the meal.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is advisable to take it with a meal.The tablets are capsule-shaped and have a notch on both sides so that they can be divided if you have difficulty swallowing.
Dosage
The recommended dose for children and adolescents aged 12 and over and adults weighing over 40 kg is 1 film-coated tablet (400 mg).At least 6 hours should pass before the next dose.The maximum daily dose is 3 film-coated tablets.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal complaints such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, abdominal pain, tarry stools and hematemesis can often occur.Occasionally, gastrointestinal ulcers with bleeding and perforations, hypersensitivity reactions with skin rashes, itchy skin and asthma attacks, headaches, dizziness, insomnia, agitation, fatigue and visual disturbances may occur.Ringing in the ears can rarely occur.Very rarely, inflammation of the pancreas and esophagus, kidney dysfunction with water retention in the tissue, skin reactions with redness and blistering, worsening of infection-related inflammation, meningitis, liver dysfunction, psychotic reactions, blood formation disorders and heart muscle weakness can occur.
Interactions
Tell your doctor or dentist about any other medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken.Caution is advised when taking anticoagulant and antihypertensive medications at the same time.The effect of diuretic medicines can be reduced.Taking antidepressants at the same time may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Contraindications
IbuDex 400 mg must not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or one of the other ingredients, in the case of asthma attacks, nasal mucosal and skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid and similar anti-inflammatory drugs in the past, in the case of unclear blood formation disorders, in the case of existing or previously occurring ulcers and/or bleeding of the gastrointestinal tract, in the case of cerebral hemorrhages or other existing bleeding, in the case of liver and...Kidney dysfunction, with heart muscle weakness, in the last third of pregnancy and in children and adolescents weighing less than 40 kg (under 12 years).
Patient information
Particular caution is required when taking IbuDex 400 mg.Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided.Elderly patients should be monitored particularly carefully as they may experience more side effects.Taking IbuDex 400 mg may mask signs of infection, so if an infection occurs, a doctor or dentist should be consulted immediately.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy, IbuDex 400 mg should only be taken after consulting a doctor.The medicine must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.During breastfeeding, the active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities. For short-term use, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.However, for prolonged use or higher doses, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.
Notes
IbuDex 400 mg should not be taken for longer than 4 days without medical advice.The medicine should not be stored above 25 degrees Celsius and should not be used after the expiry date.The medicine is a product of the company Dexcel Pharma from Alzenau in Germany.
