IbuDex 400 mg Film-Coated Tablets is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug containing the active substance ibuprofen. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, period pain and fever. The recommended dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet (equivalent to 400 mg ibuprofen) as a single dose to be taken every 6 hours, up to a maximum daily dose of 3 film-coated tablets (equivalent to 1200 mg ibuprofen). It is recommended to take the film-coated tablets unchewed with plenty of liquid during or after a meal. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 days for adults in case of fever and 4 days in case of pain. For adolescents, it should not be taken for more than 3 days. You should seek medical advice if necessary. The medicine should not be used for children under 12 years of age. Various side effects may occur such as gastrointestinal complaints, headache, dizziness, insomnia, tiredness, irritability, skin rash, breathing difficulties and visual disturbances. An overdose may cause headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, drop in blood pressure, drowsiness and breathing disorders. People with certain health problems, such as gastrointestinal disorders, bleeding disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney or liver dysfunction, as well as allergies and pregnancy or breastfeeding, should use the medicine with caution and consult a doctor before use. The medicine must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or if there are ulcers in the digestive tract or active bleeding. There may be possible interactions with other medicines, so a doctor or pharmacist should always be consulted before treatment with other medicines. The medicinal product should be stored away from heat.
