Cetirizine axicur® 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride, which is used to relieve allergic symptoms.Cetirizine dihydrochloride is an anti-allergic drug used in adults and children aged six and over.It helps eliminate nasal and eye symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as relieve hives.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride, which corresponds to 8.42 mg cetirizine.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, lactose-1-water, macrogol 6000, vegetable magnesium stearate, corn starch, pre-gelatinized corn starch, talc and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

Cetirizine axicur® 10 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you have severe kidney disease or if you are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, one of the other ingredients of the drug, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age take one film-coated tablet once a day.Children between 6 and 12 years take half a film-coated tablet twice a day.Patients with kidney failure should discuss their use with their doctor or pharmacist as dosage adjustments may be necessary.

The duration of intake depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms and is determined by the doctor.No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.

Patient information

Before taking the medicine you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you have impaired kidney function, difficulty urinating, epilepsy or a risk of seizures.Concomitant consumption of alcohol should be avoided.If an allergy test is scheduled, you should stop taking the medication a few days beforehand.

In clinical studies, cetirizine at the recommended dose did not produce any signs of impaired attention, alertness or driving ability.However, after taking the drug, the reaction should be monitored carefully, especially if activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machines are planned.

Pregnancy

Taking the drug should be avoided by pregnant women.Cetirizine passes into breast milk, so the drug should not be taken during breastfeeding unless recommended by your doctor.

Cetirizin axicur® 10 mg film-coated tablets are available in different pack sizes and are produced in Germany.The medicine should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.
