Cetirizin beta® film-coated tablets are a medicine that is used to treat symptoms of allergic diseases.It can be used in adults and children over 6 years old.The tablets help relieve symptoms such as itching, hives and redness of the skin in chronic hives (urticaria) and atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis).They can also be used for chronic allergic rhinitis, hay fever with symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, nasal congestion, redness or itching of the eyes as well as tearing and asthmatic conditions caused by allergies.

The symptoms can be suppressed with Cetirizin beta®.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

Cetirizin beta® film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride, which has anti-allergic, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory effects.Cetirizine dihydrochloride blocks H1 receptors, preventing histamine release and effects.

Cetirizin beta® film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.One film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable), macrogol 4000 and titanium dioxide (E 171).

Area of application

Cetirizin beta® film-coated tablets can be used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms in seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to relieve hives (urticaria).

Contraindications

Cetirizine beta® film-coated tablets must not be taken if you have severe kidney disease or are allergic to cetirizine dihydrochloride, any of the other ingredients of the drug, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.

Dosage

Cetirizine beta® film-coated tablets should always be taken exactly as described or after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist.Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age take 1 film-coated tablet (10 mg) once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years take half a film-coated tablet (5 mg) twice a day.Patients with moderate kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.If you have severe kidney disease, the dose should be adjusted by your doctor or pharmacist.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid, preferably water.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.If you have impaired kidney function, difficulty urinating, epilepsy or are at risk of seizures, please ask your doctor for advice.It is recommended to avoid taking the drug and alcohol at the same time.If you are going to have an allergy test, please ask your doctor if you should stop taking the medicine for a few days before the test.

In clinical studies, cetirizine at the recommended dose did not produce any signs of impaired attention, alertness or driving ability.If you plan to drive, work without a secure footing or operate machines, you should carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine after taking the medicine.You should not use more than the recommended dose.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Taking the drug should be avoided by pregnant women.Cetirizine passes into breast milk, so you should not take it while breast-feeding until you consult your doctor.

Notes

Cetirizin beta® film-coated tablets are not suitable for children under 6 years.If you don't feel better after 3 days or even feel worse, contact your doctor.Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.Cetirizin beta® contains lactose.Please only take Cetirizine beta® after consulting your doctor if you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars.
