Levocetirizine ratiopharm 5 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride.Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg levocetirizine dihydrochloride, equivalent to 4.2 mg levocetirizine.The other ingredients include microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) (E572) in the tablet core as well as hypromellose (E464), titanium dioxide (E171) and macrogol 400 in the film coating.

Contraindications

Levocetirizine ratiopharm® 5 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, if you are allergic to levocetirizine dihydrochloride, cetirizine or hydroxyzine, or if you have severe renal insufficiency with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min.Its use is not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet daily.Patients with severely impaired kidney function should not take the medicine.If you have impaired kidney or liver function, a lower dose may be required, which will be determined by your doctor.Elderly patients aged 65 years and over do not require dosage adjustment as long as renal function is normal.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are intended to be taken orally.They should be taken whole with water, regardless of meals.
