IbuARISTO® acute - quick help for acute pain and fever

Pain can have a major impact on everyday life.IbuARISTO® acute is a proven over-the-counter painkiller for headaches and fever. The versatile painkillers help you quickly and reliably with complaints such as headaches, period pain, toothache or fever. No prescription is required for this product.

The areas of application of IbuARISTO® acute at a glance

The anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect of IbuARISTO® acute helps you feel better quickly:

  • Efficiently effective for acute pain and fever
  • For headaches, period pain, toothache and fever
  • With the proven active ingredient ibuprofen
  • Anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and fever-reducing
  • For adults and teenagers aged 12 and over and at least 40 kilograms of body weight

What is pain?

Pain is one of the most important sensations of all.Without pain, we wouldn't pull our hands away from the hot stove or allow a broken bone to heal in peace. They are a warning signal from the body. The extent to which we perceive pain varies from person to person and also depends on their mental state. Some people get a headache just thinking about it.Others hardly notice injuries.Pain begins in the so-called nociceptors. These are sensory cells that act as damage detectors and detect stimuli such as heat, pressure or inflammation in the body. The pain stimuli are transmitted via the nerves to the spinal cord and from there to the brain.

Don't ignore pain

Early treatment with a painkiller can help prevent initially acute pain from becoming chronic. When pain lasts for a long time, the body develops a so-called pain memory.Over time, pain loses its warning function and becomes an independent disease. The nerve pathways in the spinal cord then constantly send pain impulses to the brain - even if the actual triggers, such as inflammation or injury, have long since healed.Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen and you have pain for more than four days and a fever for more than three days.

What is IbuARISTO® acute and what is it used for?

IbuARISTO® acute is a proven medicine. It contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.Ibuprofen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAR).In the body, ibuprofen inhibits enzymes (cyclooxygenases) that are responsible for the formation of inflammatory messenger substances (prostaglandins).Ibuprofen primarily reduces the sensitivity of the pain receptors in the tissue and is particularly helpful for mild to moderate pain.So it doesn't combat the cause of the symptoms, it just alleviates them.In addition to relieving pain, ibuprofen reduces inflammation and is a proven antipyretic agent.IbuARISTO® acute film-coated tablets are suitable for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

How quickly does IbuARISTO® work acutely?

The effects of IbuARISTO® acute usually begin within 30 minutes of ingestion and can last for several hours, depending on individual factors and the severity of the symptoms.

How often can I take IbuARISTO® acute pain tablets?

It is important that you use ibuprofen tablets correctly. The recommended dosage of IbuARISTO® acute depends on age and body weight.Read the package leaflet or talk to your doctor or pharmacist to determine the right dosage for your individual needs.Never take more than three 400 mg tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen) in a 24-hour period. In general, you should never take over-the-counter painkillers for more than four days at a time and ten days a month without medical advice. If pain persists for a long time, please always consult your doctor.

Patient information

  • Warnings and precautions
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
  • If you have an infection - see Infections below.
  • Side effects can be minimized if the lowest effective dose needed to control symptoms is used for the shortest possible period of time.
  • Safety in the gastrointestinal tract
  • Concomitant use of this medicine with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including so-called COX-2 inhibitors (cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors), should be avoided.
  • Elderly patients
  • Older patients are more likely to experience side effects after using NSAR , especially bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines, which can be life-threatening under certain circumstances. Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.
  • Bleeding of the gastrointestinal tract, ulcers and breakthroughs (perforations)
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations, including fatal outcomes, have been reported during treatment with all NSAR .They occurred with or without previous warning symptoms or a history of serious gastrointestinal events at any time during therapy.
  • The risk of developing gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations is higher with increasing NSARdose, in patients with a history of ulcers, especially with the complications of bleeding or perforations (see "Contraindication" category), and in elderly patients. These patients should begin treatment at the lowest available dose.
  • For these patients, as well as for patients who require concomitant therapy with low-dose acetylsalicylic acid (ASS) or other drugs that may increase the risk of gastrointestinal diseases, combination therapy with drugs that protect the gastric mucosa (e.g. misoprostol or proton pump inhibitors) should be considered.
  • If you have a history of gastrointestinal side effects, especially if you are older, you should report any unusual abdominal symptoms (especially gastrointestinal bleeding), especially at the beginning of therapy, to your doctor.
  • Caution is advised if you are also receiving medicines that may increase the risk of ulcers or bleeding, such as:B. oral corticosteroids, anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (which are used, among other things, to treat depressive moods) or platelet aggregation inhibitors such as ASS (see “Interactions” category).
  • If you experience gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers while taking this medicine, treatment should be discontinued.
  • NSAR should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), as their condition may worsen (see "Side effects" category).
  • Effects on the cardiovascular system
  • Anti-inflammatories/pain relievers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose or duration of treatment without consulting your doctor.
  • You should discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you
  • have heart disease, including heart failure and angina (chest pain), or have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral arterial disease (problems with blood circulation in the legs or feet due to narrowed or blocked arteries), or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA)).
  • Have high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease or stroke, or if you are a smoker.
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing, swelling of the face and neck (angioedema), and chest pain, have been reported with use of ibuprofen.Stop taking ibuprofen and seek medical attention immediately if you notice any of these signs.
  • Severe skin reactions
  • Severe cutaneous reactions, including exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), and acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), have been reported with ibuprofen treatment.
  • Stop using the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the symptoms of these serious skin reactions described in the leaflet.
  • Use should be avoided during a chickenpox infection (varicella infection).
  • Infections
  • Ibuprofen can mask signs of infection, such as fever and pain.It is therefore possible that the medicine may delay adequate treatment of the infection, which may lead to an increased risk of complications. This has been seen in bacterial pneumonia and bacterial skin infections associated with chickenpox. If you take this medicine during an infection and your infection symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.
  • Other warnings
  • The medicine should only be used after careful consideration of the benefit-risk ratio:
  • in certain congenital blood formation disorders (e.g. acute intermittent porphyria),
  • in certain autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus and mixed connective tissue disease).
  • Particularly careful medical supervision is required:
  • if you have a history of gastrointestinal disorders or chronic inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease),
  • with impaired kidney function,
  • in liver dysfunction,
  • if you have high blood pressure or weak heart performance (heart failure),
  • in case of allergies (e.g. skin reactions to other medicines, asthma, hay fever), chronic swelling of the nasal mucosa or chronic respiratory diseases that narrow the airways.
  • Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. anaphylactic shock) are very rarely observed. At the first signs of a severe hypersensitivity reaction after taking/administrating the drug, therapy must be discontinued.Medically necessary measures appropriate to the symptoms must be initiated by specialists.
  • Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function (platelet aggregation).Patients with blood clotting disorders should therefore be carefully monitored.
  • If the drug is used for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.
  • If you take ibuprofen before surgical procedures, you should consult or inform your doctor or dentist.
  • Prolonged use of any type of painkiller for headaches can make them worse. If this is the case or suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.
  • The diagnosis of Medication Overuse Headache (MOH) should be suspected in patients who suffer from frequent or daily headaches despite (or precisely because) they regularly take medication for headaches.
  • In general, the habitual use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure (analgesic nephropathy).
  • Children and young people
  • There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated children and adolescents. Please note the information in the “Contraindications” category".
  • Ability to drive and use machines
  • Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when taking the drug in higher doses, the ability to react may be changed in individual cases and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines may be impaired. This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol. You can then no longer react quickly and specifically enough to unexpected and sudden events. In this case, do not drive a car or other vehicles.Do not operate any tools or machines.Do not work without a secure hold.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Pregnancy
  • If pregnancy is discovered while using the medicine, the doctor should be notified.
  • Do not take it if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy as this could harm your unborn baby or cause problems during birth. It can cause kidney and heart problems in your unborn baby.It can affect you and your baby's bleeding tendency and may cause labor to start later or take longer than expected. You should not take ibuprofen during the first 6 months of pregnancy unless absolutely necessary and recommended by your doctor. If you need treatment during this period or while you are trying to conceive, the dosage should be as low as possible and for as short a period of time as possible. If you take this medicine for more than a few days from the 20th week of your pregnancy, it may cause kidney problems in your unborn baby, which may lead to a reduced amount of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby (oligohydramnios) or narrowing of a blood vessel (ductus arteriosus) in your baby's heart. If you need treatment for more than a few days, your doctor may recommend additional monitoring.
  • Lactation
  • The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since adverse consequences for the infant have not yet been reported, interruption of breastfeeding will generally not be necessary if the recommended dose is used for a short period of time.
  • Reproductive ability
  • Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that can affect women's fertility. This effect is reversible (reversible) once the drug is discontinued.

Medicines Reviews

The painkillers work very quickly and well. I have taken half a tablet from time to time to reduce the muscle pain in my leg after major sporting activity. The tablets are relatively difficult to divide. However, I now use magnesium 375mg capsules with better results, which also have fewer side effects in the long term.

I have been taking the tablets for a long time for occasional complaints and for me I can say they help well, are easy to divide and are well tolerated
