Summary: The medicinal product "Lingumelt akut 2 mg Lyophilisate Oral" is used for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over. It contains the active substance loperamide hydrochloride and stops diarrhoea by reducing the movement of the intestines. The medicine is made as a lyophilisate that melts on the tongue. It should not be used for more than 2 days and may cause side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort and headache. The package leaflet should be read before use. There are certain contraindications where the medicine should not be used. Pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under 2 years of age should also not take it. It is important to drink more fluids to compensate for fluid loss. The medicinal product is manufactured by Klinge Pharma GmbH.
