Area of application

DicloSpray is used for the local symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and inflammation resulting from acute blunt trauma to small and medium-sized joints and surrounding structures.The active ingredient diclofenac sodium belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and has proven itself in the treatment of acute pain conditions, which are often associated with movement restrictions.

DicloSpray contains the active ingredient diclofenac sodium.Each gram of the solution contains 40 mg of diclofenac sodium.The other ingredients are 2-propanol (Ph.Eur.), phospholipids from soybeans (E322), ethanol, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate (Ph.Eur.), sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium edetate (Ph.Eur.), propylene glycol (E1522), peppermint oil, palmitoyl ascorbic acid (Ph.Eur.), hydrochloric acid 10% (for adjusting thepH value), sodium hydroxide solution 10% (to adjust the pH value) and purified water.

Contraindications

DicloSpray should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned.

Dosage

Adults and teenagers aged 14 and over can use DicloSpray 3 times a day at regular intervals.The recommended dose is 4-5 sprays depending on the size of the area to be treated.The maximum number of sprays per day is 15, with the maximum single dose not exceeding 5 sprays.The spray should be massaged lightly into the skin and hands should be washed afterwards unless they are the area to be treated.Wait for the spray to dry before covering the skin area with clothing or a bandage.Stop treatment as soon as symptoms subside.

Intake

Remove the cap and hold the bottle vertically with the dispenser facing the painful or swollen area.Apply the recommended number of sprays.

Patient information

DicloSpray should not be used on the eyes, nose or mouth, or on open wounds or infected skin areas.Avoid use on large areas of skin and for long periods of time.Do not expose skin to the sun or tanning lamps during use.Discontinue treatment if a rash occurs.Do not cover the treated skin area with an occlusive bandage or plaster.

The use of DicloSpray has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.DicloSpray must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy.During the first six months of pregnancy it should only be used after consulting your doctor.The dose should be kept as low and the duration of treatment as short as possible.DicloSpray may only be used during breastfeeding after consulting your doctor, as small amounts of diclofenac sodium pass into breast milk.Do not apply the product directly to the chest area or other large areas of skin.

Notes

DicloSpray contains propylene glycol (E1520), peppermint oil and phospholipids from soybeans (E322).It also contains 33.3 mg of alcohol (ethanol) per gram (3.3% w/w).Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
