B12-ASmedic is a vitamin B12 preparation that is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency states.Cyanocobalamin, the active ingredient in B12-ASmedic, belongs to the group of substances collectively referred to as “vitamin B12”.A vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest itself in various clinical pictures, such as hyperchromic macrocytic megaloblastic anemia (perniciosa, Biermer anemia, Addison's anemia) or funicular spinal disease (spinal cord damage).A vitamin B12 deficiency confirmed by laboratory diagnosis can occur due to years of malnutrition and malnutrition, malabsorption in the intestine, congenital vitamin B12 transport disorders or certain diseases of the small intestine.

Each ampoule with 1 ml solution for injection contains 1 mg cyanocobalamin as active ingredient.As other ingredients, B12-ASmedic contains sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate and water for injection purposes.

Contraindications

B12-ASmedic must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to cyanocobalamin or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

Always use B12-ASmedic exactly as your doctor has told you.At the start of treatment, 1 ml of B12-ASmedic is administered twice a week in the first few weeks after diagnosis.If there is evidence of a vitamin B12 absorption disorder in the intestine, 100 µg cyanocobalamin is then administered once a month.B12-ASmedic is intended for long-term use.Please consult your doctor about this.

Intake

B12-ASmedic is usually administered intramuscularly.However, it can also be given slowly intravenously or subcutaneously.The application should only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Because of the instability of vitamin B12, adding other substances can cause the vitamin to lose its effectiveness.

The expiry date of this pack is printed on the ampoules and folding box.Do not use this pack after this date.Opened ampoules should be injected immediately.B12-ASmedic should be protected from light and not stored above 25°C.Always ensure that you store B12-ASmedic where it cannot be reached by children.
