Contraindications

Dosage

The dosage of PARACETAMOL AL 500 depends on body weight and age.As a rule, paracetamol is dosed at 10-15 mg per kg of body weight as a single dose, up to a maximum of 60 mg paracetamol per kg of body weight as the maximum daily dose.

Children aged 4-8 years (17-25 kg): Single dose: ½ tablet (= 250 mg paracetamol), Maximum daily dose: 2 tablets (= 1000 mg paracetamol)

Children aged 8-11 years (26-32 kg): Single dose: ½ tablet (= 250 mg paracetamol), Maximum daily dose: 2 tablets (= 1000 mg paracetamol)

Children aged 11-12 years (33-43 kg): Single dose: 1 tablet (= 500 mg paracetamol), Maximum daily dose: 4 tablets (= 2000 mg paracetamol)

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (from 43 kg): Single dose: 1-2 tablets (= 500-1000 mg paracetamol), Maximum daily dose: 8 tablets (= 4000 mg paracetamol)

Take PARACETAMOL AL 500 whole and with enough liquid.

Intake

Take the medicine whole without chewing with enough liquid.Taking it after meals may result in a delayed onset of action.

Patient information

You should only take the medicine with particular caution and under medical supervision if you have liver dysfunction, previous kidney damage or a congenitally increased bilirubin content in the blood (Gilbert syndrome or Meulengracht disease).

The medicine is not suitable for children under 6 years.Preparations in the form of juice and suppositories with a lower active ingredient content are available for this purpose.
