Dexpanthenol axicur® wound and healing cream 50 mg/g is an agent to support wound healing. It is used for the supportive treatment of skin and mucous membrane lesions. The cream contains the active substance dexpanthenol, which heals injured skin and mucous membranes. Dexpanthenol is structurally related to pantothenic acid, a vitamin that is important for important metabolic processes in the body. Damaged skin or mucous membranes lack pantothenic acid, and dexpanthenol compensates for this deficiency so that the wound can heal faster. The cream is applied thinly to the affected skin area(s) once or several times a day. It can be used on superficial skin injuries such as abrasions, cuts, minor burns and dry, cracked skin. Dexpanthenol axicur® wound and healing cream is also suitable for children. Side effects are rare and the medicine is well tolerated. No overdose symptoms are known. The duration of use depends on the nature of the complaints and/or the course of the disease and should not be longer than 7 days without medical advice.
