What is Femannose® N and what is it used for?

Femannose® N is a medical device that is used to prevent and support the treatment of bladder infections (cystitis) and other uncomplicated, bacterial urinary tract infections (UTI).It is particularly effective for infections caused by Escherichia coli bacteria and can relieve symptoms such as burning during urination, frequent urination, and pain.

Mode of action

The surface of the mucosal cells in the bladder consists of sugar structures.E. coli bacteria adhere there with their fimbriae (small hairs) and trigger inflammation through the body's defense reaction.When taking Femannose® N, a large amount of D-mannose reaches the bladder and urinary tract unchanged.The fimbriae of E. coli bind to the D-mannose so that the bacteria can no longer adhere to the bladder mucosa.Instead, they are flushed out in the urine, which prevents inflammation.

Each sachet of Femannose® N contains 2 g of D-mannose as well as the following excipients: fructose, sucralose, anhydrous citric acid, beetroot, silicon dioxide and natural flavorings.

Dosage

Femannose® N is suitable for adults and children over 14 years of age.To prevent cystitis, it is recommended to take one sachet daily.To support the treatment of an existing bladder infection, the following dosage is recommended: three sachets per day on the first three days and two sachets per day on the fourth and fifth days.It should be taken throughout the day and between meals.The contents of one sachet should be dissolved in a glass of water.It is recommended to drink at least two liters of water per day to promote urine output.Use should be continued for one month to prevent recurrence of the infection.

Contraindications

Femannose® N should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.No prescription is required for this product.However, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.Femannose® N is not a replacement for antibiotic treatment of urinary tract infections.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the product should only be used after consulting a doctor.The product must not be used on children under 14 years of age.The recommended dosage must not be exceeded.If symptoms have not noticeably improved after three days, you should stop taking it and consult a doctor.Femannose® N should not be taken for longer than 30 days.Each sachet is intended for single use and should only be opened shortly before use.

Notes

Femannose® N is vegan and free of gluten, lactose and preservatives.It is also suitable for diabetics as it only contains about 0.3 bread units per sachet.After consultation with your doctor, Femannose® N can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage

Femannose® N should be stored in a dry place away from direct heat and light.The bag should only be opened shortly before use.The product should be stored below 25°C.
